Durante el Foro Pol\u00edtico de Alto Nivel sobre Desarrollo Sostenible en la sede de la ONU, la alcaldesa de Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, present\u00f3 los avances del municipio en igualdad de g\u00e9nero y desarrollo sostenible con enfoque inclusivo. Destac\u00f3 el liderazgo femenino en su administraci\u00f3n y el fortalecimiento institucional del Instituto Municipal de la Mujer. Propuestas clave incluyeron empoderamiento econ\u00f3mico femenino, desarrollo de ciudades seguras y sostenibles, e infraestructura con perspectiva de g\u00e9nero.<\/p>\n
ONU Mujeres reconoci\u00f3 el inter\u00e9s de Nuevo Laredo por establecer alianzas t\u00e9cnicas, mientras Canturosas propuso que el municipio sea piloto de iniciativas regionales como Spotlight y HeForShe.
